Hungarian, French and Spanish content will be uploaded as long as the English course is finalized, reviewed and approved. The course content is motivating, encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, online communication and facilitates the activities of the participants by all means of the e-learning environment. These technological components are: learning outcomes, self-assessment tools, blogs, forums, glossary, games, e-portfolios, video tutorials.</p> <p>We use a topic-oriented course structure based on a well-planned timeline. It will not be a store of online learning contents where the participants are left alone (to learn in their own pace). Instead it will be a guided learning with the presence of the tutor, who facilitates the learning process, and pays attention to each and every participant.</p> <p>The pilots started in May and closed at the end of June in 2019. 130 persons registered initially on the e-learning platform (<a href="https://moodle.grandis21.hu/">https://moodle.grandis21.hu/</a><span style="font-family:times new roman,serif">)</span>, and 100 of them performed activities in the courses from five countries: Hungary, Spain, France, UK, Ireland.</p> <p>One of the main aims of the pilots was to facilitate the participants (formal and informal caregivers) to involve their care recipient(s) into experiments while they were working on their assignment of Module 4.</p> <p class="rtejustify">The number of participants who completed the whole course successfully was 48. The number of older adults directly involved into the experiments by course participants was 150.</p> <p>According to the results of the evaluation survey the participants were highly satisfied with the learning content and with the course as a whole. In a scale of 1-5, all parts of the course were scored above 4. Participants will perform a self-assessment, and will go through selected parts of the module according to their actual level of digital literacy. Topics are based on 4 digital competencies: Information, Communication, Content Creation and Security.</p> <p class="rtejustify">Active and healthy ageing is the topic of Module 2, including sections on the perception of seniors, demographic changes and the factors of active ageing.</p> <p class="rtejustify">Assistive technologies are dealt with in detail in Module 3. Telecare devices that were selected by the project partners before, are described here according to pre-defined aspects. Case studies, user guides, tutorial videos are included.</p> <p class="rtejustify">Module 4 is about Virtual Communities, in which participants learn about social networks and related technologies that can be used effectively in the care process.</p> <p class="rtejustify">The course content was developed partly using available open educational resources, partly created by project partners who have expertise in the subject. The existing education and training courses in all countries lack a proper focus on this newer approach, with very little explicit material on the effects of demographic change and how technology can be used to offset them. Carers need to know how to use the technologies and how to train older adults to use them, neither of which are currently covered appropriately in existing courses.
